Two Second World War bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 in a north-south alignment in the centre of Furzey Island. The craters are visible as sub-circular depressions, measuring 10 m and 16 m in diameter. (1) The northern crater is still visible as bare ground on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
