Full Description
A Second World War bomb crater is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 to the south of Portland Avenue and to the north of Caroline Cliff, in the southern central area of Brownsea Island. The crater is visible as a sub-circular depression, measuring 7 m in diameter. (1) The crater is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
