Full Description
The remains of possible Second World War military building or buildings are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of Boscombe Promenade. The site consists of either a three celled building or three buildings adjacent to each other, visible as ditches. The buildings cover an area measuring approximately 6.5 m by 6 m. (1) The remains of another possible military building and earthworks are located to the west of the buildings (see MDO8627 and MDO8628) and may be associated with them. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
