Full Description
Possible Second World War military earthworks are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north of Boscombe Promenade. The earthworks comprise two short linear banks of uncertain function, measuring up to 8 m in length. (1) The remains of possible military buildings are located to the north west and north east of the earthworks (see MDO8627 and MDO8629) and may be associated with them. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
