19th century or early modern beach huts are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s along the sea front to the east and west of Middle Chine. The huts are visible on photographs of 1940 (1); they are removed by 1945(2); then reinstated in the post war period (3). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
