Full Description
A Second World War Type 22 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s covering the exit of Durley Chine to the beach front. The pillbox is located on the eastern side of the chine adjacent to a military building of unknown function (see MDO28615). (1) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
