Full Description
A Second World War Type 22 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s covering the exit of Branksome Chine to the beach front. A semi-circle of barbed wire surrounded the beach front half of the pillbox. (1) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
