Second World War anti-tank blocks are visible on aerial photographs of 1942 at Branksome Chine. Two parallel lines of anti-tank blocks 80 m in total length and a line of seven blocks to the south extend south west to north east across an open area of beach front to the south of Pinecliff Road.

Second World War anti-tank blocks are visible on aerial photographs of 1942 at Branksome Chine. Two parallel lines of anti-tank blocks 80 m in total length and a line of seven blocks to the south extend south west to north east across an open area of beach front to the south of Pinecliff Road. (1) Anti-tank blocks, made of reinforced concrete, were one of the coastal crust defence measures used to protect vulnerable areas during the Second World War. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
