Summary

A cottage, formerly known as Railway Cottage, consisting of two tenements built in the late seventeenth century, and now converted to a single dwelling. The two storey building has walls of stone rubble and a thatched roof, while an outbuilding at the northern end has walls of chalk blocks and rubble and a clay tile roof.

‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are covered with thatch or modern materials. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (4) Cottage, two tenements, 125 yards S. of the church, was built early in the 18th century.’
