Summary

Longfleet Church Schools in Longfleet Road, opposite St Mary’s Church, of one storey with walls of grey brick with some stone dressings and a slate covered roof, was built in 1839; the date is recorded on a plaque in the central gable facing the road. Demolished after 1970.

Longfleet Church Schools in Longfleet Road, opposite St. Mary’s Church, of one storey with walls of grey brick with some stone dressings and a slate covered roof, was built in 1839; the date is recorded on a plaque in the central gable facing the road.
The building is in the Gothic style with stepped buttresses at the corners and a bellcote above the original south east gable; the windows have mostly been enlarged. The plan formerly comprised a large schoolroom parallel to the street with a central wing at right angles to it in the south east; adjacent on the northwest is the Master’s House with windows with four-centred lights and labels. The school was later extended on both sides of the southeast wing.
Demolished after 1970
