<1> Birbeck, V, 1997, A35 Tolpuddle to Puddletown Bypass, Dorset. Hill Barn Borrow Pit, Near Tolpuddle. Archaeological Evaluation (Unpublished document). SDO14160.
‘Two small ditches or gullies, both undated, were located in the north-west area and sample excavated. … The two linear features identified may conceivably represent the truncated remains of a prehistoric or Romano-British field system across the more level plateau in the north-west of the application area.’
