Summary

Seventeenth century house, remodelled in mid nineteenth century. Carstone rubble and quoins, seventeenth century brick, nineteenth century brick with blue headers and stucco dressings, off-centre brick ridge and right-hand gable stacks and a slate roof.

‘(353) COTTAGE, at Oakley (019986), of two storeys with brick walls and ashlar dressings and a slate-covered roof, was built in the mid 19th century. Fragments of an earlier building of the 16th or early 17th century of carstone rubble with ashlar quoins survive in the E. gable wall.’
