Full Description

Site of a bowl barrow, part of a group on Bincombe Down just south of the Winterborne Came parish boundary. Listed by Grinsell as Bincombe 8 and by RCHME as Bincombe 41.Formerly described by RCHME as having been ploughed flat, in 1980 the Ordnance Survey described it as being nearly ploughed out, and visible only as an amorphous ground swelling. RCHME have suggested that some of the barrows in this general area were excavated by Warne in the mid-19th century.

Grinsell recorded this barrow as 15 paces in diameter and 1/4 foot in height, and in arable. <1>
