Summary

Local tradition says that Tincleton Hang was used to take the dead over the hill to Tolpuddle for burial before the churchyard at Tincleton was dedicated in the early fifteenth century. Parts of the track run between high banks.

'Tincleton Hang path - an ancient trackway, was used to take the dead for burial over the hill to Tolpuddle before the first church yard was dedicated at Tincleton in the early 15th century; it is now an unclassified road. … Tincleton Hang starts off as open on one side with a fence on te other side, goes into a stretch of hedges both sides and then high banks.'
