Full Description

A hollow way or drove road of a possible medieval date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north east of Tincleton Cross. The earthworks consist of a linear ditch oriented north-south and measuring 185 m in length. A short length of ditch or track extends to the east approximately halfway along its length, for a distance of 35 m. (1-2) The hollow way and an adjacent enclosure (see MDO2731) are recorded as medieval features in the NRHE (AMIE 454858). This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
