Listed Building record MDO27070 - Almer Manor, Almer, Sturminster Marshall

House. c1600, with early C17 extensions, and C20 alterations. Walls of flint and limestone bands, some of ironstone rubble. Tile roof, with stone slates in the lower courses

Almer Manor (formerly West Almer Farm: OS 6" 1902), is of two storeys and attics, with walls of coursed flint and rubble and some plain rubble walling. The house was built circa 1600 as a range of three rooms and was extended in the early 17th century. Modern work includes the formation of a new entrance near the
south east end. The north west front has a two-storey semi-octagonal porch of about 1600 but has probably been brought from elsewhere. <2>
