Full Description
SY 74198416. A stone conduit head with date 1843, and the coat of arms of John Trenchard on a plaque. No longer in use but in good condition. <1>

‘Conduit, dated 1843. Ashlar stone structure with string course and pitched stone slab roof and parapet. Central recess with depressed stone arch holds iron pipe, with remains of two brass fittings in upper right hand corner of arch, not in use. Above is ornamental plaque with inscription: ‘This conduit was erected by John Trenchard Esq, for the use of the Poor of his Parish of Poxwell 1843’, above is coat of arms. To rear of conduit are two recent timber doors allowing internal access. Conduit it set within curved recessed stone wall with stone caps and iron rail at either end, recessed area holds stone bench. To other side is tap, functioning. Conduit is in good order, with signs of stone repair.’
