Summary

Former Rectory, now private house. C16 and C17 block, extensively altered and modernised. Late C17 porch, modernised. Early C18 south-west wing. Rubble-stone walls. Slate roof with stone gable- copings.

Full Description

"The OLD VICARAGE, 60 yards S.W. of the church, consists of a 16thc and 17thc block with a late 17thc. porch, the arches of which are modern. The house has been extensively altered and modernized but retains a 16thc. 4-light window, and a similar one of 3-lights with elliptical heads. <2>

The oldest portion of the house is probably early 17th cent or possibly late 16th cent. Extensions were made in the 18th cent in the South and the West wing was built in the 19th cent. Windows etc were modernized in the 20th cent. Now known as THE OLD VICARAGE <3.1>. A well preserved stone built private residence. The porch and windows referred to in T2 are in the East face. Description T2 correct. <3>
