Full Description

Former malthouse, now used as a store-house. Early 19th century. Dressed stone walls on a chert rubble base. Hipped Roman tile roof, with parallel ridges. 2 storeys. 4 windows, 3-light wooden casements with segmental stone arch-heads to ground floor, and wooden lintels to first floor. Entrance at centre with former loft doors over. Plank door with frosted glass. Interior: Roof, King-post trusses with queen-struts, 19th century. Otherwise an open shell. The malthouse is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map and was sold in 1855 on the death of the owner, John Davey.
