Monument record MDO2616 - Bowl barrow, Sydling St Nicholas

A probable bowl barrow close to the parish boundary. In 1952 this monument was reported as being around 45 feet in diameter with a mound about 1½ feet high. A possible ring ditch visible as a cropmark at this location on a 1945 aerial photograph may be this feature. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project.

The possible ring ditch is very faint but appears to be approximately 18.7 m in diameter. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Frome AIM project. It may also be visible as a faint cropmark on 2005 Google Earth imagery (3).
