Full Description
Old Gravel Pits shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1886 (OS 1886).
A loose grouping of five pits are visible as ditched earthworks in a field to the southwest of Shillingstone Hill on 1940s aerial photographs and Environment Agency lidar imagery (RAF 1947; EA 2018). The features were digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
