The possible site of a World War II type 22 pillbox identified immediately to the south of New Barn Road and visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs taken in 1946.{1}. It was situated within the Abbotsbury Defence which was defended by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
