A banked field system of uncertain origin is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and Lidar imagery to the south of Cowards Lake. The features are probably of medieval date although an earlier origin cannot be ruled out.

A banked field system of uncertain origin is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and Lidar imagery to the south of Cowards Lake {1-2}. The features are probably of medieval date although an earlier origin cannot be ruled out. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
