Full Description

A small hexagonal structure is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948 {1} adjacent to the trackway behind the landing stage at Morkhams Lake. It is potentially the site of a World War II type 22 pillbox. It is situated within the Abbotsbury Defence which was defended by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
