Full Description
A World War II anti-tank ditch located behind, Chesil Beach running NW from Reeds End and visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1}. It comprises a linear ditch running along the landward side of Chesil Beach parallel to a post medieval drain. It forms part of a longer interrupted feature which runs to Castle Hill Cottages. It was situated within the Abbotsbury Defence which was defended by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
