Summary

A shrunken village st Swyre is visible as low earthworks; some well preserved close boundaries on either side of Swyre village main street indicate village shrinkage. (RCHM). Earthwork banks and ditches of small enclosure boundaries are visible on aerial photographs {1,2} and were digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Projecct.

SY529884. Some well preserved close boundries on either side of Swyre village main street indicate village shrinkage. Probably post medieval. <1>

A shrunken village st Swyre is visible as low earthworks; some well preserved close boundaries on either side of Swyre village main street indicate village shrinkage. Earthwork banks and ditches of small enclosure boundaries are visible on aerial photographs <2-3> and were digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Projecct.
