Summary

A number of fields immediately to the north of Burton Mere contain earthwork remains of regular, closely spaced ridge and furrow cultivation of post medieval or modern date. These remains are clearly visible on aerial photographs {1}. The site was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping project.
