Pits and hollows, likely to be the remains of post medieval extractive pits, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. The site was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping project. Some are shown on the 1:25-inch scale Ordnance Survey map published in 1902, on which they are described as 'Old Quarries'.
