Parallel field boundaries are visible as loe earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of Chickerell. They are considered to be the remains of a medieval strip field system {1} which is overlain by later cultivation marks. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
