Full Description
A group of five pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs {1-3}. One is shown on the 1880 OS map {4} as an old chalk pit and is considered likely to be of post medieval origin. The remainder are probably of a similar origin, although they could also be natural shake holes. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project
