Summary

Ditched bowl barrow, it is on spur running north east from the Ridgeway. 90ft. in diam and 4ft. high. This barrow was opened by Cunnington in 1881, exposing burnt matter and bone fragments near the centre, possibly the remains of a cremation burial. Visible as a cropmark ring ditch with internal bank on aerial photographs. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Grinsell recorded this barrow as 25 paces in diameter and 3 feet in height. <2>

Ditched bowl barrow, it is on spur running N.E. from ridgeway. 90ft. in diam and 4ft. high. Opened by Cunnington in 1881, exposing burnt matter and bone fragments near the centre. <4>

SY 67238667. Bowl barrow of diameter 34.0m. And height 1.0m. No visible evidence of a ditch. In arable.
Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>

Visible as a cropmark ring ditch with internal bank on aerial photographs <7>. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
