Full Description
A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1-3}. Some are shown on the 1880 OS map {4} as chalk pits and are considered likely to be of post medieval origin. The remainder are probably of a similar origin, although some could also be natural shake holes. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
