Summary

A group of linear banks and ditches of uncertain date and function are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs. They are considered likely to be the remains ofmedieval or later trackways and field boundaries.

Full Description

(SY 646872) Some traces of damaged scarps which are likely to belong to Celtic fields similar to those on Shorn Hill (SY 68 NW 37) are visible in Middle Eweleaze field to the north at Winterborne St Martin. <1>

A group of linear banks and ditches of uncertain date and function are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs <2-3> and were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. They are considered likely to be the remains of former trackways or field boundaries.
