Full Description
SY 7182 9296. A bowl barrow 13 paces in diameter and 2ft high noted by the RCHM. <1>
SY 7185 9295. A circular grass covered mound without a ditch and situated on a hilltop. Diameter 12.0 metres, height 0.6 metres. It looks like a barrow and probably is one, though some doubt is cast by a tennis court like platform cut out of and partly built up on the hillside, 15.0 metres to the west. There is no obvious spoil heap and it is estimated that the soil from the cut away portion is not entirely absorbed in the built up portion. Enquiries concerning this platform produced negative results. <2>
Tumulus located and surveyed. <3>
SY 7186 9295 Barrow?, 39ft diameter and 2ft high situated east-north-east of Higher Kingston Farm, on the crest of a spur facing south. Aerial photographs suggests traces of a ditch but it is not visible on the ground. <5>
This mound has now been ploughed out. The owner of the land, Mr Holland of Higher Kingston Farm, thought it a spoil heap from the construction of a tennis court nearby. <6>
Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow, visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. <7-8>
