Monument record MDO24788 - Winterborne Steepleton, strip fields

Traces of medieval strip fields visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs and LIDAR. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. Located within the area of the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852) but unclear if detect.

No traces of strip fields are now visible in the area, which has been intensively ploughed in recent years. <2>

Traces of medieval strip fields visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs <3> and LIDAR <4>. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Located within the area of the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852) but unclear if detected within field 412A. The survey data was disrupted by the presence of the over-head cables.
