Full Description

A near circular depression, 13m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1} at Southill. It is considered likely to be the site of a WWII bomb crater although an earlier extractive origin cannot be ruled out. The site now lies under modern housing and is one of a number of bomb craters in the vicinity of Weymouth. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
