Summary

Three hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. One is shown on the 1880 OS map as a chalk pit. The remainder are considered likely to also be chalk pits.

Full Description

Three hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1-2}. One is shown on the 1880 OS map {3} as chalk pits and is considered likely to be of post medieval origin. The remainder are probably of a similar origin, although they could also be natural shake holes. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
