Full Description
An oval hollow, measuring 9 x 12 meters, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs {1}and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. It is of uncertain date and function, possibly a post medieval or later chalk pit. A tumuli is shown on the modern OS map at this location, although not on any earlier OS maps, suggesting it could be an excavation hollow relating to this feature.
