Summary

Three small round hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of Ringstead. They may be the sites of post medieval extractive pits although their near circular shape may be indicative of them being the sites of a WWII bomb craters.

Full Description

Three small round hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of Ringstead {1-2}. They are possibly the sites of post medieval extractive pits although their near circular shape may be indicative of them being the sites of a WWII bomb craters. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
