A small round hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the west of Upton. The feaure is probably the site of a post medieval extractive pit although is near circular shape may be indicative of it being the site of a WWII bomb crater.

A small round hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the west of Upton {1}. The feaure is probably the site of a post medieval extractive pit although is near circular shape may be indicative of it being the site of a WWII bomb crater. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
