Summary

A decapitated burial was discovered in about 1892 in a quarry in Todber. The skeleton was in a lead coffin, the head had been removed and placed beside the legs. There were hob nails by the feet and a spindle whorl was also found in the coffin. The skeleton was identified as male. The location is based on the only quarry in Todber shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1886.
