Summary

A saw pit is visible at the rear of the Yeatman Hopsital, Hospital Lane, on the 1886 1st edition OS 1:500 map, and on the revised 1901 2nd edition 1:2500 map. The site had developed as a hospital extension by 1963.

AC Archaeology conducted an archaeological desk based assessment in 1997 of land to the rear of Greenhill House in advance of a proposed extension to Sherborne School.

A study of historical maps revealed that A saw pit is visible at the rear of the Yeatman Hopsital, Hospital Lane, on the 1886 1st edition OS 1:500 map, and on the revised 1901 2nd edition 1:2500 map. The site had developed as a hospital extension by 1963. [1]
