Full Description

A sub-square banked enclosure, 20m by 18m in size, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the souith-west of Abottsbury Castle {1}. It is similar to the enclosure to the north of Castle Hill Cottages which is described in MDO24235. It is of uncertain date and may be later prehistoric, medieval or post medieval origin. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
