Parallel cultivation marks are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the west of Portesham (Ordnance Survey 1984). They are considered likely to be the levelled remains of medieval ridge and furrow. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
