Summary
Evidence for a prehistoric field system was excavated during an archaeological evaluation of land at Blandford St Mary in advance of housing development in 1994. Six linear features were cut into the underlying subsoil; two of which contained post medieval artefacts, the remainder contained no datable artefacts and are interpreted as of prehistoric date. Fragments of probably Bronze Age flint were recovered from the spoil heaps.

Evidence for a prehistoric field system was excavated during an archaeological evaluation of land at Blandford St Mary in advance of housing development in 1994. Six linear features were cut into the underlying subsoil; two of which contained post medieval artefacts, the remainder contained no datable artefacts and are interpreted as of prehistoric date.
