'Mr. Bean reports the following results of his observation of drainage and other works in Sherborne.
Long Street, ST 64361675. Drain excavations about 2 feet deep in the south side of Long Street, opposite Eastfields, and in the channel of the carriage-way, revealed an area of black earth, animal bones and 13th-14th century pottery.'
