An ancient cottage at Thorncombe Thorn cross-roads, described as a toll-house on the Ordnance Survey 6", may be a relic of the original route of the Lyme Regis and Crewkerne Turnpike Trust.
It is also on the road from Forde Bridge to Birdsmoor Gate, a turnpike of the Chard Trust. (2)
