Full Description
The gravel pit is visible as a shallow depression at this location on 1940s aerial photographs (2).
The feature comprises an elongated irregular depression 67m long by up to 30m wide and bounded by a road on its west side (shown as a trackway on the OS 1st Edition map (1)). The outline is shown lined by trees.
The site is a school and grounds on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
