Monument record MDO23466 - Gravel Pits, Greenhill Road, Colehill

Gravel Pits marked on the Ordnance Survey maps of 1885 and 1900, not shown on subsequent maps. The largest southwesternmost pit is visible on 1940s aerial photographs and was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

The largest and southwesternmost of two gravel pits recorded on the OS 1st Edition map (2) is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (3).

The pit is elongated sub-oval in form and measures 34m long by 15m wide.

The site is under housing on Badbury Drive on current Google Earth imagery and the feature is no longer visible. It was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
