Full Description

Earthworks and possible walling in this location are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (2).

The features appear to comprise the scarps of a possible clay pit and sections of banks and walls that may be part of a building complex associated with the post medieval brick works. An aerial photograph of 1951 (3) shows that the site was already partly redeveloped by this time and it is now part of the Stone Lane Industrial Estate. The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset NMP project.
